If you’re in tune with the latest trends, I’m sure you’ve seen the Hobby Lobby challenge. For those that don’t know, Hobby Lobby is a craft store comparable to Michael’s. If you live in Miami, there’s a new one in Hialeah adjacent to Westland Mall.
The Hobby Lobby challenge is basically using props in an “ugly location” without looking like it. Everyone typically uses flowers for their background and try to make the pictures look as professional as possible. It’s actually an extension of the “ugly location” photo challenge.
If you wanna know who started these trends, look up @zachary_raber and @_KelseyMaggart. They’re young American photographers with some cool content, but just be mindful of their ego before you try to praise them like I did — Buzzfeed makes anyone feel brand new ?
I’ve never been to a Hobby Lobby before, so I thought that this was the perfect opportunity to participate in the challenge. Here’s our amateur attempt!
We’re Waiting to Be Called, IMG Models
I’m super awkward when it comes to pictures, so I gave my signature smirk my best shot. I gotta say, my Hobby Lobby challenge pictures make me feel like a travel blogger! I was laughing through the whole thing, and my friends managed to snap a nice candid of me laughing ?
My friend had her smize down packed. Not sure if this was the Hobby Lobby challenge for her or a professional shoot for Southern Living. She killed it either way. She was laughing the most, so we have many outtakes for her ??
My other friend looked so graceful and majestic. I don’t even think any of these pics count as an outtake. We were hearing some Janis Joplin the night before this adventure, so I’m sure she was channeling her inner hippie and flower power in these shots ???
And of course she came out perfect and had no outtakes!! ? she’s a fellow blogger, so check her out ??♀️ @annamariahouse
How was our attempt of the Hobby Lobby challenge? We all think it was pretty solid! Have you tried it? If not, what are you waiting for?!
Thanks for reading! ?
