A long overdue and late night Skincare Sunday has finally arrived ? I had a month of finals lmao and unfulfilled promises to you all ? I know I keep saying expect more…trust me this one last time!! Without a further a do (did I even say that correctly? ?), let’s get started!
Last week, I tried the Yes to Coconuts Ultra Hydrating Paper Mask.
Let’s keep this blunt: this mask was hell. It literally felt like it was burning my face. I left it on for a minute and half and yanked it off immediately.
My skin is crying after seeing this. Look at that redness…I’ve never had an allergic or adverse reaction to a product. I’m not even allergic to anything!! Anything with coconut usually soothes my skin and gives it life. I was so shocked. and SHOOK.
Aside from the burning sensation, this mask didn’t even fit my face well.
LMAO. I just love this picture.
I spent a good amount of time trying to adjust it. I couldn’t get it flat on my face no matter what I did. It hurt too much for me to keep trying.
This was my first time using a sheet mask. I had high hopes because the liquids the mask is soaked in are supposed to be rubbed into your skin after you remove the sheet. My skin was feeling drier than usual, so I thought it was the perfect time to try it out.
Important things worth noting:
- My skin isn’t sensitive. It’s just very, very, very dry. I’ve never broken because of a product.
- This sheet mask didn’t have an expiration date. I don’t pay too much attention to expiration dates for some products because I’ve used some beyond those dates and never had issues, but that’s something I don’t do with skincare. This mask didn’t have an expiration date, so I imagine that it could’ve possibly expired.
- Just because I got this reaction, doesn’t mean you necessarily will! Maybe there was an ingredient I was allergic to (I’m not allergic to anything as far as I’m aware) or it was expired like I mentioned in the previous point.
The price point of this product is great; it was under $5. However, the lack of an expiration date, my adverse reaction and the mask’s inability to fit my face make it a no-go from me. I give this a 0/5 ☹️
However, I’ve tried a Yes to Tomatoes face wash and I loved it! I still have hope for the brand. I’m also curious what’s the actual name of this brand and if the different vegetables and fruits they feature in the brand name denote separate product lines ? I’ll research that for the next Skincare Sunday ?
Have you tried this product, a different face mask from brand or this brand in general? What do you think of this brand and its product line-up? Do you have better and affordable sheet mask suggestions?!

Thanks for reading ?
Thanks, great article.
Thank you!!
came across this article because I recently purchased this facemask & have been experiencing severe redness and a swollen face afterwards.
I’ve always been weary of ingredients since I’m allergic to cinnamon, but this product didn’t seem to list anything in particular that *should* cause an allergic reaction.
I’m surprised after so many reviews reporting a burning sensation that they haven’t pulled the mask off this product (for more than 3 years!!)
Not sure if it’s due to an unlisted exposure to other products in manufacturing or the potency of their concoction…. But it’s DEFINITELY a no-go from me for now on. I just wanted to have a relaxing night & smooth skin before going to bed, not a face slathered in oily Benadryl and thinking of a last-minute recovery tomorrow before work. Probably will be sticking with The Creme Shop or Burts Bees from now on.
